First Lady of Ukraine Gives Her Take on Arsenal Signing Zinchenko

To match their Top 4 ambitions for next season, Arsenal have moved quickly in the summer transfer window, roping in some very exciting names. The most intriguing ones so far have certainly been Fabio Viera, Matt Turner and the former Manchester City duo of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko

Zinchenko probably didn’t require much convincing seeing as he already had built a rapport with manager Mikel Arteta during his City days. Similarly, the Spaniard was already well-aware of the Ukrainian’s abilities, which made the deal a swift one.

Within days of joining the Gunners during their pre-season tour in the US, the fullback was starting in a friendly against rivals Chelsea, and he looked to have blended in seamlessly.

His familiarity with Arteta’s methods was on display, and he looked right at home, his performance became one of the highlights of the 4-0 victory.

Since then, Arsenal fans have only grown to appreciate their brand new fullback even further. And by the looks of it, a quality player isn’t the only thing the club is getting.

News of the 25-year-old’s move has travelled far and wide, and of course, it reached his native homeland Ukraine.

The nation’s admiration for the player is so immense, that even Ukraine’s first lady Olena Zelenska commented on the transfer. The quote comes from an interview featuring Ukraine’s First family on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

When the topic of Zinchenko to Arsenal came up, this is what Olena had to say, “Zinchenko is loved by everyone in Ukraine. He is one of the recent heroes of the nation and Ukrainians. Zinchenko is such a nice guy and even the girls like him so much. Our people will become fans of this football team (Arsenal).”

Going by her words, Zinchenko has the approval of the ladies, and now, Arsenal have the approval of thousands of Ukrainians. Safe to say, the club can now expect a swathe of Ukrainians donning on the Arsenal red, and tuning in to support their national hero.
