Darren Watkins Jr., also known as IShowSpeed or just Speed online, met celebrity Kim Kardashian and her son Saint West in Osaka as they watched Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr take on Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Though the scoreboard showed no change between start and finish, Speed made a host of memories with Ms. Kardashian and her son.
Cristiano Ronaldo led the line for the Saudi side while Les Parisiens lined up without Neymar Jr., who is still recovering from a season-ending injury the previous term, and Kylian Mbappe, though his brother Ethan did make an appearance off the bench around the hour mark.
The American YouTuber, a die-hard Ronaldo fan, was sporting an Al-Nassr jersey from the previous campaign with the Portuguese international’s name on the back as he approached Ms. Kardashian and her son.
Speed addressed Saint first and expressed surprise at seeing the young lad wearing a PSG jersey with Neymar Jr.’s name on the back to which the 7-year-old responded that he hoped to meet the Brazil international first.
Speed then asked Saint if he did not like Ronaldo to which the youngster quipped that he considers Ronaldo to be the greatest of all time associated with the sport.
Speed began insisting that Saint pull on a Ronaldo jersey to which the latter mentioned once more he wanted to swap jerseys with Neymar first before meeting the Portugal captain.
When next asked to choose between Lionel Messi and Ronaldo, the 7-year-old picked the latter without any hesitation, while his mother’s friend joked that the kids present liked Speed more than either of the legends.
Once Speed turned to Ms. Kardashian with the same query, she picked both, also having been to watch Messi make his debut for Inter Miami against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.
Speed and the kids shared a hug and then posed together for pictures, with Ms. Kardashian joining in as well and there was time for Speed to correct her when she referred to the sport as ‘soccer’ a little later.
Before parting ways, Speed shook hands with everyone, told Saint specifically to be a Ronaldo fan, and asked the kids to bark (at the end of the video below), with the kids only too happy to comply.
Saint eventually got his wish, getting a jersey from Neymar and meeting Ronaldo later, getting to perform the iconic ‘Siuu’ celebration with its originator and most famous proponent.
