As a result of Manchester United‘s turbulent season thus far, constant debates rage on amongst fans regarding the various troubles at the club. Topics include United’s new manager, contact renewals, defensive issues etc.
A mainstay in that list is the discourse regarding the captain’s armband. The debate centres around the usual suspect, Harry Maguire, as many have questioned his leadership abilities.
Coupled with his lacklustre form, many fans have called for the English international to be stripped of the armband and it instead be handed to United Legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
And evidently, Bayern Munich fullback Alphonso Davies shares a similar opinion.
The Canadian international, during a Twitch stream, spoke on the matter
“You’re Ronaldo, One of the greatest players ever. And what’s his name is your captain? Harry Maguire is your captain? And you refer to him as yes cap. I don’t know what he says to him. Bro, I’m not dissing Maguire but Ronaldo, Ronaldo should get the armband man.”
