Rivals fans cannot hide their envy at what Frank Lampard has done with Chelsea

Chelsea legend and current manager of the club Frank Lampard has managed to take his team to new heights in the early phase of this season despite all the adversities that have surrounded the Blues.

The club is on a six-match winning streak and sits third in the league, having also secured two wins on the trot against tough competition in Europe.

The rival fans have begun to notice the same and with clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United going through extended rough patches for the better half of a decade now.

However, at the beginning of the season, things looked anything but optimistic. Not only had Chelsea lost its four time player of the year Eden Hazard who also starred in their Europa League winning campaign, but were also handed a transfer ban effective immediately.

Moreover, Lampard had only had one full season as manager in professional football with Derby County, arousing natural skepticism from the club’s supporters.

The same doubts were shoved into the spotlight when the London club lost the UEFA Super Cup to Liverpool before being marauded 4-0 by Manchester United in their league opener.

The 41-year-old has since not only managed to turn the tables, but has emerged as a prospective long term candidate capable of ushering a new era at the club.

His emphasis on giving the youth maximum chances has seen players like Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham flourish under him, not to forget Christian Pulisic who has had a real impact whenever given a chance.

He has tried to inculcate a fast, slick brand of possession-based attacking football, the best version of which was at show in their latest match against Ajax.

Though they only managed to win 1-0 courtesy a late Michy Batshuayi strike, the scorecard doesn’t tell the whole story.

They were constant a threat to Ajax’s defence before ultimately capping it off with a goal to also come away with the result.

Chelsea and rival fans alike were quick to take notice of and mentioned the same, heaping praise on the iconic number eight for the job he has been doing so far.

They gave all credit to the club’s smooth start to the season to one of the youngest managers in the circuit and Chelsea fans will be hoping he helps the team sustain their present form for a long time to come.

6 Academy starlets that got on the pitch for Chelsea against Grimsby Town

Frank Lampard got a first home win as Chelsea boss thanks to goals from Ross Barkley, Michy Batshuayi’s brace, Pedro’s penalty, Kurt Zouma, Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

But the bigger picture was Chelsea ending the game with a total of 6 (majority) youth products on the pitch as they thrashed Grimsby Town 7-1.

Let’s have a look at the 6 academy graduates who were handed their debuts last night –

1 . Billy Gilmour

Billy Gilmour made 96 passes in the game and completed 93% of them. Controlled the entire game at just 18 years old. The future of Chelsea’s midfield.

2. Reece James

Labeled as a ‘generational talent’, Reece James – who took the Championship by storm last season – had a Chelsea debut to remember with a goal and two assists.

3. Marc Guehi

Another youngster who impressed on his Chelsea debut. Got forward early to start the move that led to Chelsea’s second. Composed at the back and did well to cover for Alonso’s defensive frailties. Very promising performance for the young defender.

4 . Callum Hudson-Odoi

Could have easily had a hat-trick, Callum Hudson-Odoi scored in his first game back with Chelsea since rupturing his Achilles in April.

5. Tino Anjorin

Another 17-year-old who made his debut last night and looked like he belonged right from the off as he floated through the midfield, leaving defenders on the ground.

6. Ian Maatsen

There was a lot of fluidity in movement on the left flank when Ian Maatsen came on. Chelsea might just have another Ashley Cole in their hands.

Chelsea formally approve Jorginho propaganda

Jorginho propaganda at Chelsea has been made official it would appear after the club released a hype video celebrating the former Napoli star.

Italy midfielder Jorginho was Maurizio Sarri’s man, hailed as the chief exponent of the “Sarriball” possession play on his £57million arrival from Napoli in the summer of 2018.

But Sarri’s man in the middle attracted all the brickbats from the terraces any time Chelsea laboured under the former Napoli boss’ heavily-proscriptive system.

Another accusation levelled at Jorginho last year was that he was playing on a regular basis because he was a favourite of former boss Maurizio Sarri.

Things have been different this season though and the midfielder is starting to get the recognition he deserves.

The Italy international was treated to a rendition of his name during the 3-2 Premier League win at Norwich.

That comes on the back of a difficult first season for the 27-year-old, who was often criticised and even jeered off the pitch on occasion.

Calls for the Italian to be made captain instead of Azpilicueta have been growing louder among Chelsea fans and it seems the club are aware of the affection Jorginho has been generating lately after a tumultuous first season in England.

Once a Blue, always a Blue as Eden Hazard snapped at a Chelsea camp in Greece

In the biggest transfer of the window till now, Eden Hazard finally completed his move to Real Madrid worth €100 million recently. The winger was linked with Real Madrid for a long period of time and finally Los Blancos got their man.

After spending 7 years at Stamford Bridge, Hazard has transformed into one of the best in the world. A player known for his low center of gravity, quick feet and close control, Hazard is truly a very technically gifted individual.

His Chelsea spell saw him win a number of trophies i.e the Premier League and Europa League on two occasions along with one FA Cup victory.

Individually Hazard has many accolades to his name. He has been very influential for both club and country in the last 7 years and it is no surprise as to why Real Madrid chased him so vigorously.

Hazard has gone on to show the love and affection that he still clearly possesses for Chelsea after he was spotted visiting a Chelsea camp in Greece.

The Sani Football Academy is an excellent football development program. With a UEFA approved football pitch and a state of the art club house, the kids experience a very professional setting. The kids are given a welcome kit wherein they are provided with uniforms, bags and custom t-shirts.

The kids, not even in their wildest dreams would have imagined themselves meeting none other than Eden Hazard.

The fans still love him and this act is only going to add to the affection the Chelsea faithful possess for the Belgian.

Hazard dribbled around with the kids before signing jerseys and posing for a group photo. The youngsters would never have seen this coming and they were truly thrilled to meet the Belgian.

Chelsea fans would have loved that Christian Pulisic had the confidence to try a move like this against Guyana

Chelsea fans have very little to be excited about for the season ahead. A transfer ban added to the departures of talisman Eden Hazard and manager Maurizio Sarri now means they will go into the new season with a weakened side.

However, there may be some hope. With news of Frank Lampard coming in as new manager, the fans will surely be excited to see their legend back in the dugout however there is still belief that he is inexperienced and not ready for the job.

Enter Christian Pulisic.

A signing during the Sarri-ball season, Christian Pulisic signed for Chelsea during the winter transfer window on January 2, 2019. He was sent back on loan to Dortmund for the remainder of the season and is currently on national duty for USA in the Gold Cup.

A player with low center of gravity and quick acceleration, where have you heard that before Chelsea fans? Pulisic also possesses a strong weak foot which allows him to play on either side of the wings. Pulisic is no direct replacement for Hazard but potentially he can fill up the spot left behind by Hazard.

Still only 20 years old, Pulisic has a lot to learn and grow as a player. Joining the Premier League and learning from experienced wingers such as Pedro and Willian will surely improve the performances and abilities of the American winger and prepare him for life in England.

USA are currently competing in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and demolished Guyana 4-0 in their first match. Pulisic started the game in the left of center midfield and was subbed off in the 63rd minute. USA take on Trinidad and Tobago next on Sunday.

Watch below as Pulisic leaves a Guyana defender puzzled with a slick elastico!

Not Pulisic – Look who replaced Eden Hazard as the feature player for Chelsea in Sky Sports graphic for next season

Since ending their season on a high by winning the Europa League, things have been slowly going down for Chelsea.

The future at Chelsea looks bleak at the moment. They’ve lost their best player, their manager, and have an ongoing transfer ban to deal with.

While the fans are hoping for the club to get back on track as soon as possible, watching Ross Barkley as the face of Chelsea in a promotional poster released by Sky Sports isn’t really helping their cause.

Barkley had an ordinary season with 5 goals and 6 assists in 48 appearances with Chelsea last season and is nowhere near to be the ‘face of the club’ yet.

While fan favourite N’Golo Kante or new signing Christian Pulisic would’ve been better received by fans there are far bigger problems for both fans and the Chelsea management to worry about.

There’s no doubt about the impact of a player like Eden Hazard leaving, but it is the departure of manager Maurizio Sarri that further escalates their problems.

Sarri didn’t exactly win over the Chelsea fanbase particularly with the decision to play N’Golo Kante out of position favoring his marquee signing Jorginho throughout the season.

His rapport with the players too was under constant scrutiny (for instance the horrific “misunderstanding” with Kepa in the EFL Cup final) which is why he left immediately when Juventus came knocking.

But guess what, this isn’t the end of their problems. They have a transfer ban till the summer of 2020 imposed by FIFA and youngsters Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are likely to miss the early part of the next season.

Only time will tell us what transpires at Chelsea but the next few months are definitely going to be critical for them.

Old tweets from Daniel James showing support for Chelsea surface online after Man Utd transfer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing at the club, Manchester United officially unveiled Daniel James to the world recently.

The youngster joins United on the back of an exceptional breakthrough campaign at the Liberty Stadium where he terrorised Championship defenders with his electrifying pace while nicking up four goals and seven assists.

Controversial social media updates from 5 years ago

Within a few hours after his unveiling, tweets from 2014 went viral online, especially amongst Chelsea fans (Twitter).

Back in 2014, James taunted Manchester United for rejoicing a single point against a ten men Chelsea that night.

When asked in the comments that whether he supported Chelsea, the answer was yes.

Man United fans should keep it real though

Wayne Rooney grew up supporting Everton before growing up to become a legend at Old Trafford.

John Terry supported Manchester United as a boy and went on to establish himself as a Blues superstar.

Will he succeed at United?

The track record of young players moving to Old Trafford in recent years has not been overly positive.

James has moved to Manchester during a period of transition for United, and finding his feet in the squad will not be easy.

Although, he can hit the ground running with the right attitude and training, as few can really doubt his ability.

Photo – Chelsea hero Eden Hazard arrives in Belgium training dressed in all blue

Despite the Europa League triumph in Baku, that too winning it against their London rivals Arsenal, it has not been an easy going for any Chelsea fan recently with the rumors of Maurizio Sarri possibly leaving the club for Juventus, coupled with incessant news of Eden Hazard’s pending transfer to Real Madrid.

The rumors are too strong and it seems the little magician would more than likely ply his trade in La Liga next season but seeing him arrive in Belgium training in an all blue attire will have Chelsea fans hoping against hope regarding his possible stay in London next season.

Eden Hazard joined his teammates in the Belgian National Football team prior to the Euro 2020 qualification games against Kazakhstan and Scotland at the Belgian Football center in Tubize today.

A Chelsea player shouted “he hates tottenham” as Willian’s name was being sung in the bus

Ever since Chelsea defeated Arsenal in the Europa League Final, their celebrations seem to be endless.

As their celebrations continued, several videos surfaced on the internet. One of them, posted as an Instagram story by Jorginho, seems to be the most popular of the lot.

Giroud’s jab at the Gunners

The post-match video is shot inside the team bus, with the trophy being passed among the players. It begins with Giroud mocking his former club, Arsenal where he spent 6 years of his 11 year club career.

But the video is not just controversial because of Giroud mocking the Gunners.

Further trolling of another London rival

While the Blues were singing praises for their Brazilian star, Willian, someone from the crowd of players screamed, “he hates Tottenham”, bringing memories back to life.

Willian & Chelsea have old rivalry with Tottenham. It all started in the summer of 2013 when Mourinho was the manager at Chelsea. Spurs accused Mourinho & co. of disrupting their transfer for Willian.

Apparently, he was about to sign for the Spurs in a £30m deal after he completed a medical. However, Abramovich, the Chelsea owner, made a personal call to Kerimov, who is the owner of Willian’s former club Anzhi.

Hiking the price offered by Tottenham by just £2m, Chelsea wer able to hijack the Brazilian star.

Picture: Sarri and staff pull off their best Godfather impression after Chelsea win

Sarri and his coaching staff are pictured enjoying a smoke and giving us their best “Godfather” impression following their 4-1 victory over Arsenal in Baku in the UEFA Europa League final.

Maurizio Sarri is a happy man and understandably so!

After receiving harsh criticism and opposition from the Chelsea media and fans, Sarri has won the Europa League which is also his first trophy in football.

Chelsea played a decent first half but were on the back-foot for most of it. Since the start of the second half, Chelsea took matters into their own hands.

A header from Giroud, a Pedro goal and a farewell Hazard brace were all too much for Arsenal who scored via an Iwobi half-volley.

Along with finishing 3rd in the PL, Chelsea have added the Europa League to their achievements this year.

Following the win, Sarri and his management enjoyed a cheeky smoke.

Known for his smoking habits (about 80 a day), it is no surprise that Sarri celebrated the win with another fag. The cigarettes and the suits surely do give them a sharp Godfather look.

They look nothing less than the Italian Mafia here!

The Godfathers of London

Zappacosta forgetting where his mouth is in one of the highlights of the Chelsea win last night

Last evening Chelsea thrashed their Premier League rivals Arsenal with an epic 4-1 scoreline in the UEFA Europa League final at Azerbaijan.

While the Blues were engrossed in the celebrations post their second Europa League win, some players seemed to be have lost their senses in the toxic euphoria.

One of them was Davide Zappacosta.

In a hilarious video posted on Twitter, the Chelsea man seemed to forgot where his mouth was.

He was apparently trying to drink water. But in his first attempt due to sheer delight he sprayed the water away from his face.

This bit from last night has got the Blues fans rolling on the floor in laughter. People are wondering how can somebody forget where their mouth is.

Though, what we can learn from our dear Chelsea man Zappacosta is that high dose of happiness can make us forget even some basic human behavior.

Football fans loved Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri having his own little moment with the gold medal

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri was spotted getting emotional after receiving a gold medal for winning the UEFA Europa League 2018/19 with Chelsea.

A glimpse of Sarri’s season at Chelsea thus far

Chelsea have had a rollercoaster of a season.

After finding Antonio Conte unsuitable for the managerial post, Chelsea brought in the foul mouthed football genius from Napoli, Maurizio Sarri.

Premier League fans expected to see a breathtaking display of offensive possession football known as ‘Sarri-ball’.

However , the players at Chelsea Football Club often failed to deliver. They had a string of bad performances in the league.

Fans and critics blasted Chelsea for showing no spirit or passion in their matches. Sarri’s appointment faced criticism. He was often ridiculed by the media.

Euphoric scenes at Baku Olympic stadium for all the Blues

However, Chelsea rose above the turmoil. They produced a stellar performance to win 4-1 against a lacklustre Arsenal side.

They defeated them to be crowned champions of the Europa League .

The Baku Olympic Stadium saw a wild, euphoric Chelsea team celebrating with abandon yesterday.

Arsenal put up a mediocre performance. On the other hand, Chelsea played with a passion that seemed missing in them for a very long time.

Chelsea players and staff embraced each other and showed love to their fans after the match.

As they lifted the Europa Cup, their faces could not hide the pure joy and pride after a difficult season.

However , most fans did not notice another heartwarming sight that was taking place behind the wild celebrations.

Maurizio Sarri was not in the thick of the celebrations. Instead, he was quietly admiring his gold medal. It was the first trophy he had won in his 29 years as a professional football coach.

Fitting result for a man who loves the game with all his heart.

Sarri is a true football genius and his philosophy of the game has won him praise from numerous critics and colleagues.

Perhaps the only flaw in his dynamic and beautiful career was his lack of a major trophy in professional football.

Maurizio is known to be foul mouthed and rough at times on the players. Consequently, the media often call him inhuman and inflexible.

However the video clip shows this softer, more human side of the great coach. He worked as a bank manager before deciding on becoming a football coach.

After toiling and persevering for decades, Maurizio Sarri finally won professional silverware.

Without a doubt , this was an accolade that he had waited deservedly for.

It was a fitting result for a man who loves the game with all his heart.

Sarri showed simple, childlike joy and admiration on receiving ths fruits of his labour. This scene moved fans all over the world. And perhaps this is all that Sarri wants, a validation to his own mastery of the game.

Sky Sports create awkward situation for Chelsea new boy Pulisic

What a start to Pulisic’s life in England. Sky Sports have baffled everyone and angered the Chelsea faithful with their interview of Christian Pulisic, Chelsea’s latest signing.

The American international appeared for his first ever interview as a Chelsea player. Sky Sports have been slammed for the quality of the questions as well as the manner in which they were asked. The questions were ridiculous. The interviewer focused on Eden Hazard and Jadon Sancho and left the American very confused.

Timeline of the 10 minute interview:

  • The very first question was regarding Giroud and his contract extension
  • The questions about the transfer ban and his thoughts put him in a very awkward position
  • The most controversial topic of discussion was Jadon Sancho. Talking about the player who took his place in the squad was really a childish and careless move by the interviewer and the fact that he asked Pulisic 3 questions related to Sancho in a row made matters more embarrassing
  • Comparison to Eden Hazard and asking him if he can replace him
  • Asking him point blank if he can be the “most successful” American player in the Premier League

The interview was truly a shambolic one but Pulisic showed great maturity. He did not fall prey to the interviewer and his irrelevant questions.

He maintained himself well even though the questions spoke about Sancho. 3 Jadon Sancho questions before the 4 minute mark left us wondering if the interview was about him?

The comparison to Hazard and asking if he was here to replace him was utter foolery. Pulisic is here for his own growth and purpose. He will definitely try to emulate Hazard and his impact provided he leaves.

Asking him whether he can at such an early stage was a huge blunder and Sky Sports should be ashamed. Fans have left countless comments on various social media platforms. It has not gone down well with fans in general, not just the fans of the blues.

We hope that Pulisic can get over this interview and bring his creative flair to the Premier League.

These Chelsea fans reckon ‘Headband Jorginho’ reached a new level in the draw against Eintracht Frankfurt

Remember the iconic photo of a blood-drenched Terry Butcher? That click was one for the ages as he played on heroically for England despite a blow to the head in a goalless draw against Sweden in 1989. Thirty years on, and we have another warrior in the form of Jorginho, Chelsea’s midfielder general.

The Italian went down early in the second half with a head injury after colliding with Sebastian Rode during Chelsea’s Europa League semi-final first leg at Frankfurt. Jorginho required treatment, due to a cut and was bandaged up by the medical team.

Chelsea’s number 5 got stuck in on the action and oddly enough, put in a classy performance after the knock. Playing the perfect midfield pivot, Jorginho shielded the defenders behind him while initiating the attacking play in front of him.

Orchestrating the game throughout, his performance (especially after his injury) has got Chelsea fans and the community talking about the maestro that he is. Some Chelsea fans even believe that that performance was his best-ever till date in a Chelsea shirt.

Fans took to social media to praise the midfielder and also express their reactions to the warrior headband that he was required to wear.

Fans called for respect to be shown to Jorginho, claiming that he is one of the best midfielders in the league, while others were quick to state that he needs to wear the headband every game, as he controlled the game majestically against Frankfurt in the aftermath of the injury.

All this comes as a relief for fans, as the Italian has come under flak of late for his performances and lack of impact.

Chelsea will be hoping that Jorginho can continue to hold on to this form, as they welcome Frankfurt back to Stamford Bridge in a week’s time, with an away goal in hand but the scores tied at 1-1.

And with things in the PL looking very tight for the top 4, Jorginho will be looking forward to influencing the gameplay, and even hope to register his first assist of the season, despite having played the most passes in the league.

Chelsea reveal new home kit with Eden Hazard leading the official promotion

Chelsea have released their new home kit for the 2019/20 season, with official promotion images on their social media accounts, starring Eden Hazard, Cesár Azpilicueta and Ethan Ampadu wearing the stunning new design.

Similar to last couple of seasons, it is a ‘rush blue’ with the trademark white Nike swoosh on it. The biggest change, however, is a classy darker blue graphic of the Stamford Bridge on the front, back and sides of the shirt, which have received mixed reactions from the Chelsea faithful.

But the takeaway Chelsea fans are hoping for from all of this is that Eden Hazard will continue to be at the club next season. The 28-year-old Belgian has been their best player ever since he made the move to the London outfit, and the fans have been rightly worried with the possibility of not seeing him in Chelsea colours after this season.

Hazard has been heavily rumored to leave Chelsea at the end of the ongoing season and ply his trade wearing the whites of Real Madrid.

Hazard is also Chelsea’s top scorer this term with 16 goals and 13 assists in 31 Premier League games. One of the most technically gifted players of his generation, the Belgian has the ability to decide entire games on his own.

And with this kit release, Chelsea might have just reaffirmed the fact that their crown jewel won’t be leaving this summer.

The West London outfit are currently sitting in fourth, two points away from fifth placed Arsenal, and are hoping to tighten their grip on a Champions League spot by either winning their last two games, which will move them up to third depending on current holders Tottenham’s performances, or winning the Europa League.

Chelsea face Eintracht Frankfurt in the semi final of the competition on Friday, with a CL spot the ultimate goal to play for.

Photo of Eden Hazard donning next season’s Chelsea home kit arrives online

With the 2018-19 footballing season coming to a close, football fans are eagerly waiting on the reveal of club kits for the upcoming season. It is during this time that clubs provide the fans what they are looking for, as most clubs tend to feature their new strip in the final weeks of the season.

The end of the season sees more attention paid towards what kit sponsors have to offer for the next season. Over time, kits have become more breathable, more suited to the player’s needs; with kit makers paying close attention to function, rather than fashion. But of late, these two aspects have been amalgamated flawlessly to give the fans and players the best of both worlds.

Over the last week or so, we have seen freelance graphic designers shell out their concept kits for clubs, clubs like Roma and Juventus have their new kits leaked online and we have seen the footballing community lose its mind over the prospect of eye-catching kits for the 2019-20 season.

The latest club added to the list of leaked kits is Chelsea. Pictures of Chelsea’s new home kit for the next season leaked online recently, and they look absolutely stunning. Players Cesar Azpilicueta, Ethan Ampadu, and Eden Hazard were seen donning the new strip. The jersey features the ‘rush blue’ of the last two seasons, with graphic designs on the shirt in a darker blue. The designs appear to be inspired by Chelsea’s stadium, Stamford Bridge. The Nike logo is in white, and the shirt sponsors are Yokohama Tyres. The kit will feature blue shorts with the Chelsea logo and the Nike symbol. The stockings are rumored to be blue with two white bands separated by a red band.

While the kit looks stunning and like a piece of contemporary art, it also subconsciously brings about another question. One with regard to the player featured in the kit leak pictures. Eden Hazard. With the Belgian heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer, these leaks would come as a relief to fans hoping that their talisman would stay on in London.

And while the kit is something the Chelsea fans can quench their thirst over, was this leak somewhat of a subliminal message that Chelsea sent out about their number 10? Of course, it is all just speculation, rumors and wishful thinking. Will Hazard stay or leave in the summer?
