(Video) Ole Gunnar Solskjaer bizarrely hints at traffic playing a role in the loss against bottom-placed Watford

Manchester United’s season has been a classical case of two steps forward and one step back this year.

While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was heralded as a tactical genius by all after overseeing double victories over Mourinho’s Tottenham and local rivals Manchester City at the start of the month, his United side somewhat stumbled against Everton before going outright missing during the 2-0 loss to Watford yesterday.

While pundits have been picking their brains out in studios trying to figure out where it went wrong for the home side at Old Trafford, Solskjaer came up with the most bizarre reason for United’s defeat to the team struggling at the bottom of the Premier League.

While United fans are no strangers to hearing strange excuses from their managers in the past after defeats (remember those times under Louis van Gaal and Mourinho United fans ?), they still should be shocked to hear the club legend bizarrely stating that the traffic had a role to play during his side’s defeat.

Check out the clip from Solskjaer’s bizzare post match presser after United’s 2-0 loss yesterday:

Raheem Sterling trolled for liking Marcus Rashford’s ‘Manchester is Red’ post

After United’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City earlier this month, fans will be treated to another edition of the Manchester derby in the Carabao Cup after the two sides from Manchester drew each other for the semi-finals of the competition.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer showed his tactical masterclass during the last derby when his United side absolutely ran rings around Pep’s Champions and oversaw the kind of dominant performance not seen from United sides at the Etihad since Sir Alex retired.

Much of the praise for United’s mini resurgence of late has been going to Marcus Rashford who has already notched up his personal best goal tally just halfway into this campaign.

And almost two weeks after United’s victory, the striker seems to be in no mood to give up United’s local bragging rights and posted a photo on Instagram with Mason Greenwood urging his side to keep Manchester red.

With his affiliation to the blue half of Manchester and also featuring in the derby for the Citizens personally, Raheem Sterling was perhaps the last person United fans would have been expecting to ‘like’ Rashford’s post but the England international did just that.

But the attacker would soon regret his decision with eagle eyed United fans quickly noticing his social media activity and with such an important City player liking a post which openly mocks their derby defeat, United fans were always going to rub it in the faces of their rival fans and are having a field day on Twitter.

“From Liverpool to City and now supporting United!”. Check out the reaction from United fans here:

(Video) Man Utd YouTuber trolls City fans by asking if ‘Pep Guardiola is a fraud’

Sitting in third position in the points table barely halfway through the campaign and securing progression into the knockout stages of the Champions League usually ensures a comfortable situation for any manager but not if you are at Manchester City and especially not if your name is Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard is considered to be one of the biggest names in football management and his constant successes in Spain, Germany and most recently in England means that even the slightest slip-ups riles up a media storm.

Manchester United coming across town to the Etihad has been reduced to a one sided affair at times since Pep took over but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s young side absolutely dominated the champions last week and deserved to go home with all 3 points.

The 2-1 derby defeat to their local rivals has widened the gap with Liverpool to 14 points and many opposition fans are making most of the opportunity to troll the tactician for his recent shortcomings.

Manchester United fans have been especially vocal after their derby win and popular YouTube channel ‘ The United Stand ‘ took the trolling up a notch by asking fans if they felt ‘Guardiola was a fraud‘ while roaming the streets of Manchester.

While United fans enjoyed the question and came up with witty answers, City fans looked quite taken aback by the notion and some fans even moved away from the camera when presented with the question.

Man Utd player forced to deactivate social media account after showing support for Boris Johnson-led Conservative Party

Manchester United star Max Taylor won the hearts of everyone around him barely two weeks ago when he earned himself a spot on United’s Europa League squad after a year long battle with cancer.

While the young Englishman was unable to make his debut appearance against Astana, the defender is set to make his way into the senior side sooner rather than later with coaches at the club impressed with his attitude in training.

The 19-year-old was tipped for big things before he was diagnosed with testicular cancer but didn’t let the illness affect his career and was back at Carrington barely 5 weeks after his chemotherapy.

The defender was viewed as an inspiration for young players around the world but has irked the wrath of a certain fan section by openly expressing his political views on Twitter.

His Tweet featured a demographic showing BBC’s exit poll forecast before the results were declared today and the young defender seemed pretty happy with the prediction based on the nature of his caption on the tweet.

While the prediction came to fruition and the Conservative Party led by Boris Johnson came out victorious in the UK general elections, Taylor’s Twitter account was deactivated shortly after the tweet presumably due to fan backlash.

Sheer passion on display from David de Gea as the final whistle went off at Etihad

After stumbling to yet another disappointing draw against Aston Villa last week, even the most loyal United fans wouldn’t have had high hopes ahead of Tottenham’s visit and the trip to the Etihad.

But fast forward one week and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is beign heralded by all as a master tactician after getting the better of two of the biggest names in the game in Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola.

After the 2-1 victory over their former boss at Old Trafford, the Red Devils put in an absolutely dominant performance that hasn’t been seen from a United team at the Etihad since the glory days with their devastating front four running rings around the champions for large parts of the game.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Ole’s young guns however with David de Gea having to make a couple of super saves to deny City from snatching a point towards the end.

Hence it was no surprise to see Solskjaer rushing to embrace the Spaniard stopper after the full time whistle, who looked absolutely ecstatic after putting in another hard nights shift.

The usually calm De Gea was uncharacteristically animated during the celebrations and United fans especially seemed to love the sheer passion on display when he kept shouting ” Vamos” towards the away section.

Academy trio in awe of Rashford as incredible photo from Norwich City win arrives online

It was a happy outing for Manchester United at Carrow Road as they managed a straightforward 3-1 win over Norwich City on Sunday.

All of it could be summed up by one picture (see below) where the brightest lot of current Manchester United academy talents were found to be awestruck by the brilliance of their homegrown hero, Marcus Rashford.

The 21-year-old forward made the night memorable as he scored his 50th goal for The Red Devils in his 183rd club appearance.

Rashford had a golden opportunity to reach the milestone on the 29th minute when he got to take a spot kick but was denied by Tim Krul.

The redemption came only around a minute later when the England international controlled a long ball brilliantly with a magnetic touch and deposited it calmly with another stroke.

This moment of excellence brought the best reaction out of the substitutes as Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams and James Garner applauded unequivocally from the sidelines.

Riding on their telling performances with the junior team, the young trio found their names on the team list and going by their gesture of admiration it is safe to say that they have already found their role model. It is important to mention here that Rashford himself has been a part of Manchester United’s youth academy since he was 7 years old.

Rashford finished the night with a beautiful assist to Anthony Martial.

Earlier, Scott McTominay opened the scoring for United. With this goal the iconic club became the first team to score 2000 goals in the Premier League. In the end, Onel Hernandez’ 88th minute goal only proved to be consolatory for Norwich.

Rashford celebrated flooring Van Dijk long after the game got over on Sunday

Besides a goal against their biggest rivals, Marcus Rashford also grabbed the limelights for out-muscling Virgil van Dijk to the floor as Manchester United’s improved display so nearly brought a surprise victory against Liverpool on Sunday.

The striker looked to be in great spirits as he hung out with South London rapper Youngs Teflon after the game.

And it seems the duo had a right laugh at the expense of the Dutchman as Youngs took to his Twitter account and uploaded a photo with the caption “Right after we laughed at the VVD challenge”.

The rapper has continually laced his music with football references since starting out.

His obsession with football has seen him reel off bars in a number of tracks and freestyles down the years, with the Manchester United fan often vocal on Twitter about the game he loves most. He even has a track named “Marcus Rashford”.

Rashford, meanwhile has been under pressure in recent weeks after enduring a dry spell in front of goal for Manchester United with many fans and pundits questioning his ability and hunger to lead the line for United.

But the 21-year-old turned in a good performance for United against Liverpool.

Rashford found the net to give his side a lead in a game few gave them a chance of getting something out of, but Adam Lallana’s late goal saw the contest finish 1-1.

The result is a much-needed boost for Rashford and United, who have been off the boil this season.

Rashford will get another chance to prove his number 9 credentials this Sunday when United travel to Carrow Road to take on newly promoted side Norwich City.

(Video) Man United new boy shows quality wing-play for national team in Trnava

Perhaps the only bright spark at Manchester United at the moment, Daniel James continued his good form on international duty with Wales last night.

Wales stayed in the hunt for Euro 2020 qualification with a battling 1-1 draw against Slovakia in Trnava.

Slovakia were reduced to 10 men two minutes from time when Norbert Gyomber received his second yellow card, but Wales could not find the winner in what was a pulsating contest.

It was a must-not lose game for Wales with Ryan Giggs’ side three points adrift of Slovakia, albeit with a game in hand, and matches in Group E fast running out.

Kieffer Moore’s first goal for his country gave Wales hope of ending a 12-month wait for an away win.

But Juraj Kucka equalised eight minutes after half-time with a splendid volley from the edge of the area.

The Welsh goal came after some wonderful work from Daniel James to beat Peter Pekarik down the left wing, and the Man United new boy followed it by delivering a delicious cross in the box, which was duly converted by Moore.

Red Devil for life – Robin van Persie rocks up in Manchester United shin pads at Kompany’s testimonial

Since 2010 few players have managed to attain the legendary status Robin van Persie holds at Old Trafford during his 3-year stint with the club.

The ‘flying’ Dutchman had cited a desire to win silverware as the reason for leaving Arsenal for the Red Devils in 2012 and after a fairytale season Van Persie ended the year with a Premier League winners medal as well as England’s golden boot.

After Fergie’s retirement in 2013 however the fairytale ended for him with the striker suffering from a big dip in form and ultimately left the club rather unceremoniously after Louis Van Gaal’s first season in charge.

But despite his struggles in Manchester during his final two season there, United fans seemed convinced that the Dutchman still holds the club dear after noticing something special about his shin pads during Vincent Kompany’s testimonial.

The 36-year-old was one of several greats who turned up for the City legend’s testimonial and the striker’s decision to sport club merchandise has scored some major points with the United supporters on Twitter.

Where are the Maguire > Van Dijk people now, ask Liverpool fans after England game

Harry Maguire became football’s most expensive defender after completing his £80million move from Leicester to Manchester United in the recently concluded summer transfer window.

The England centre-half’s transfer fee eclipses the previous record of £75million Liverpool paid for Virgil Van Dijk.

Comparisons between the two center-backs have been rife since the transfer at the start of August and two sets of fan bases have been going at it against each other to prove who is the better defender.

Maguire’s error during England’s Euro qualifying win against Kosovo

England took another huge step towards Euro 2020 qualification with a 5-3 win on a crazy evening in Southampton.

Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane and Jadon Sancho helped the Three Lions score five before the break, but they wobbled in the second half as Kosovo gave them a scare.

While everything is firing at the top end of the pitch there are still question marks for England about their defensive unit after they allowed Kosovo to score three times.

All three were a direct result of individual errors, which made the evening a little more complicated than it should have been.

Keane and Declan Rice were criminally sloppy in possession and it led to goals while only Harry Maguire knows what he was doing when he went through the back of Vedat Muriqi.

Manchester United should be 2nd in the Premier League based on their performances – only behind Man City and above Liverpool

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team came into the season with renewed confidence after an impressive unbeaten pre-season abroad.

After being linked with attacking players like Bruno Fernandes and Spurs’ Christian Eriksen, many critics felt that United’s inability to bolster their ranks would come back to haunt them as the season progresses.

But after a resounding 4-0 win over Frank Lampard’s Chelsea on opening day, supporters were over the moon and seemed convinced that Solskjaer’s young side had it in them to challenge City and Liverpool for the English crown.

But the win against Chelsea looks to have been a false start for the club with the 13-time Premier League champions managing to grab only a meagre 2 points from their next 3 games in the league.

While the alarm bells haven’t quite started ringing around Old Trafford yet and most fans seem to still be onboard with Solskjaer’s long-term vision, there is a growing consensus around the club that United need to stop dropping points in games they are generally ‘expected’ to win if they want to achieve their top-4 aspirations.

The playing style may be a major improvement from the dull displays under Mourinho and Van Gaal but the Norwegian will still need to find a way to register maximum points soon to quell the lingering doubts about his ability to lead the club to glory in the future.

Both Solskjaer and his players have talked about how United were ‘unlucky’ to drop points these last few games in their post-game pressers and it seems like they weren’t kidding around either.

A new study undertaken by UtdArena have backed these claims and show that the Red Devils would actually be in second spot behind their noisy neighbours City and above bitter rivals Liverpool if the league table was based on performances (xG) rather than points.

While most fans agreed with the idea that United have played better than their current league standing shows, many also felt that winning against the likes of like Wolves, Crystal Palace and Southampton is expected from a club of their stature and that United should be higher up the table given their relatively easier fixtures compared to other top 6 sides.

What do you think United fans? Check out the UtdArena’s findings below :

Tottenham v Man Utd – Premier League rivals engaged in a feisty pre-season clash in China

Pre-season friendlies are usually conducted with the intention of getting players back to prime fitness levels as well as giving managers the chance to gauge their options ahead of the upcoming campaign.

While these exhibition matches are usually low intense affairs with both teams looking primarily to get a good workout without picking up any injuries, Manchester United’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur earlier today wasn’t certainly as ‘friendly’ as advertised.

Both the English teams looked in good form ahead of the International Champions Cup fixture with Spurs fresh off their win against Juventus and United unbeaten in their previous 3 friendlies in Australia.

No love lost between Spurs and Man Utd as Premier League rivals renew rivalry in Shanghai

With Pochettino known for setting up an attacking team and with “pace” being the keyword in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pressers so far, fans who turned up at the Hongkou Football Stadium were always going to get their money’s worth of football.

But even the most optimistic of fans wouldn’t have been expecting the pace and intensity with which both teams went about their business on the pitch with the match-up looking like a proper Premier League fixture for large spells of the 90.

Both teams looked to attack right from the off and things were already looking pretty lively when Anthony Martial beat Gazzaniga at his near post to give United the lead in the 21st minute.

But it was after the Frenchman’s strike that things really ticked off with tackles going in left and right from both teams during the latter stages of the first half.

Not a friendly – Spurs v Man Utd marred with violence from players in Shanghai

While closing down from midfield is always appreciated, Moussa Sissoko took things a bit too far when he tried to halt Daniel James from creating problems on the left wing.

The Frenchman chopped the young winger down and United players seemed incensed for what they felt was deliberate stamp in the follow through of his tackle.

Andreas Pereira looked the most offended and looked inches away from starting a brawl with Spurs skipper Harry Kane before the referee stepped in to diffuse the situation.

The Brazilian looked riled up after the incident and got himself booked for a lunging tackle on Kane not long after Sissoko’s horror challenge.

Check out both the incidents below –

“No stupid handshakes, just business” – Soon-to-be old teammate on Man Utd target Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Last month Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was insistent on wrapping up his transfer plans before the beginning of July, and especially prior to leaving for Australia in their pre-season tour.

The Norwegian boss has been hell bent on snapping up the Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka who is considered to be one of the hottest prospects in English football.

The Red Devils expects to secure the signature of Wan-Bissaka for £50m, who happens to have completed his medical at Manchester United earlier today (Daily Mail).

His Selhurst Park team teammate and the ex United winger Wilfried Zaha seem to have been very impressed by the young full back.

A footage of Zaha speaking on the Eagles’ official YouTube channel has emerged between this reported transfer agreement and it will delight the United supporters.

Unless you speak to him, he will not say a word. In the changing room, he’s quiet. But he doesn’t speak on the pitch really. That’s why everyone likes him. He doesn’t chirp up much

Zaha on Wan-Bissaka

He also encouragingly stated that Wan-Bissaka has an amazing personality who does much of his talking on the pitch and is very easy to get along with.

Who is Crystal Palace Player of the Season Aaron Wan-Bissaka

The Crystal Palace right-back leads most defensive stats following a superb campaign in England’s top flight.

Wan-Bissaka was above anyone in the league when it comes to most clearances, most tackles won, most take-ons completed, most interceptions and also possessed the highest tackle success rate (Statman Dave).

A whirlwind of a campaign in South East London won him Palace’s Player of the Season award.

The U-21 English international appears to prioritise his defensive work over flying down the wing like every other modern full back does, which will indeed invigorate the Manchester United’s deformed backline.

He would be a breath of fresh air for United fans and can have an exceptional future at Old Trafford.

The price up front might seem costly, but if he fulfills his true potential and remains with the Red Devils for years to come, Wan-Bissaka will be well worth the money.

Gone viral amongst United fans, check out the the video of Wilfried Zaha hyping Aaron Wan-Bissaka below –

Man Utd global partner picks up a fight with a fan complaining about the current issues at the club

Manchester United’s fall from grace since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down in 2013 has been well documented.

After being crowned king of England by some margin during the Scott’s last year in charge, even the most pessimistic of supporters wouldn’t have expected David Moyes to botch England’s most coveted job the way he did during his brief and uneventful stint as United’s manager.

The mediocrity of the “chosen one’s” reign was followed by an absolutely ludicrous two years under the fabled Louis van Gaal, who however did manage to win the club’s first silverware since the Ferguson era on his last match in charge.

After both their short and long term plans turned out to be disastrous, the United hierarchy then turned to the self-proclaimed ‘special one’ Jose Mourinho to lead them back to their former glory.

But even after somehwat steadying the ship during his first couple of seasons, the Portuguese tactician suffered from his infamous third year syndrome which ultimately led to his sacking midway through the season.

After being brought in as an interim manager, United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer got off to a squeaky clean start in the dugout but couldn’t maintain his fine start after being given the job on a permanent basis.

With their club going through a seemingly endless transition, the fans are bound to get frustrated after a while and that’s exactly what happened to a young supporter who took a crack at one of the club’s sponsors Mlily for concentrating on the commercial rather than on the footballing side of things.

The fan took a jab at the American luxury mattress company on Twitter but surprisingly the admin of Mlily’s official handle didn’t back down either and had a proper go back at the fan as well.

The incident seems to have polarised United supporters judging by responses on Reddit with many fans seemingly on the same page with the fan that the excessive impetus on the commercial side is affecting the club’s results on the pitch .

But other supporters seemed convinced that the club needs sponsors to acquire the funds required to make new signings and truly realize United’s footballing potential.

What do you think United supporters? The weet, since then, has been deleted but you can check out a screenshot below:

(Video) Anthony Martial training ruthlessly before the pre-season kicks off at Manchester United

There doesn’t appear to be any Premier League footballer who divides fans quite like Anthony Martial does.

To some he remains one of the most naturally gifted footballers in the modern game while for others the Frenchman embodies everything that has gone wrong with Manchester United this season.

Martial’s attitude, work-rate and commitment on several occasions have been questioned by both managers and fans alike.

A few months ago, a video emerged on social media of Martial putting in very little effort during a warm-up routine which not only incensed the United supporters but also infuriated manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Twitter).

The United boss is looking to rebuild his team this summer starting with the pre-season tour which begins next and his recent statements has outlined his expectations of his team before the start of their next campaign.

And that is exactly what Martial has been seen doing in a recent video which surfaced online.

The Frenchman would be looking forward to ensure that he fits into the plans of Solskjaer as the manager wants to restore the original philosophy of the Red Devils to develop youth rather than going on a spending spree for superstars.

While United possess other young stars including Rashford, Lingard and their recent signing Daniel James, Martial still remains their deadliest attacker with the stats to show for it.

Scoring 12 and assisting 2 goals last season for the Red Devils, the 23-year-old brings much more to the table by his link up play and the ability to create chances.

A big season awaits Anthony Martial and we hope that he lives up to all the great promises he has shown. Check out the video of him in an intense training session below –

Photo – Scott McTominay looking absolutely jacked to play for Manchester United next season

What do you expect the players to do after the end of a season? Vacations, family, endorsements, etc. Not for Manchester United’s Scott McTominay who has refused to put his foot off the gas after an impressive season.

McTominay posted a picture on Instagram of him and his friends, in which the Scottish international looks all ripped and motivated after a boot camp at Barcelona.

The Scot made nine starts and seven sub appearances in the Premier League, while also featuring in the Champions League games against PSG and Barcelona, where he was one of the standout performers and was praised by the manager.

The 22-year-old now looks to secure a place in the starting lineup for the Red Devils next season.

Former United manager Jose Mourinho had put his faith in the midfielder but with a major rebuilding project underway in Manchester, the academy graduate will need to be his absolute best to get some regular game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer next season.

The Norwegian’s dream to revive the “United Way” of football needs players like the passionate Scot to lead the way.

With Ander Herrera and Juan Mata leaving and Paul Pogba being linked heavily to Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid, it seems to be the perfect time for McTominay to dominate the proceedings in midfield.

Old tweets from Daniel James showing support for Chelsea surface online after Man Utd transfer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing at the club, Manchester United officially unveiled Daniel James to the world recently.

The youngster joins United on the back of an exceptional breakthrough campaign at the Liberty Stadium where he terrorised Championship defenders with his electrifying pace while nicking up four goals and seven assists.

Controversial social media updates from 5 years ago

Within a few hours after his unveiling, tweets from 2014 went viral online, especially amongst Chelsea fans (Twitter).

Back in 2014, James taunted Manchester United for rejoicing a single point against a ten men Chelsea that night.

When asked in the comments that whether he supported Chelsea, the answer was yes.

Man United fans should keep it real though

Wayne Rooney grew up supporting Everton before growing up to become a legend at Old Trafford.

John Terry supported Manchester United as a boy and went on to establish himself as a Blues superstar.

Will he succeed at United?

The track record of young players moving to Old Trafford in recent years has not been overly positive.

James has moved to Manchester during a period of transition for United, and finding his feet in the squad will not be easy.

Although, he can hit the ground running with the right attitude and training, as few can really doubt his ability.
